USA and Peru have a long-standing trade partnership!

Last year, before Covid-19 hit the world, Peruvian nontraditional exports to the US grew to $ 3.9 billion. Agricultural exports rose to $2.5 billion, textile to $700 million, fishing to $220 million and jewelry to $100 million more.

Total exports, including metals and other key products, reached $5.7m billion, compared to US exports to Peru for $8,8 billion. So, the US still retains a positive trade balance with Peru.

These results happen after the implementation of the Peru Trade Promotion Agreement (PTPA) in 2009. Exports to Peru from the US consists of technological goods, but also agricultural products.
