Mr. Silva-Santisteban was appointed as the first Director of the Trade, Tourism & Investment Office
of Peru in the UAE, GCC, India and Turkey whilst spearheading efforts in South Africa and most
recently Russia. During tenure, exports to the UAE grew 870-fold as well as increasing FDI by more
than 70%. As Commissioner General Expo 2020 Dubai exerted as the architect of Peru’s return to a
World Expo and instrumental on its accolades and theme creation.
Prior to his nomination, acted as Regional Director and Publisher for the Middle East, Latin America,
Eastern Europe and South East Asia in worldwide leader communications agency, with over 40
business units within his domain. Before his regional appointment, he exerted as Project Director &
Producer in the 5 continents.
With over 21 years in government and the private sector, his expertise is one in corporate
governance, global communications, value creation and business innovation. His analyses and
productions have been published in The New York Times, Wall Street Journal, IHT, USA Today and
The Economist.
Additionally, his professional career has been enriched by holding posts in multinationals on a
myriad of fields such as investment banking, human resources, product and business development
and international trade.
A keen philanthropist at heart, has a great interest in sports, specially sailing -national champion-,
football and golf as well as a deep passion for art, music and cinema.

Mr. Silva-Santisteban is an Executive Scholar from Kellogg School of Management – Northwestern
University, holds a Post Graduate in Business and Global Communications from Instituto de Empresa
and a B.A in Business from Universidad de Lima, with further specialization studies in Stanford,
Wharton and Harvard.
