Puno: Sandia Promotes Its Attractions with Adventure Tourism Festival

The municipal authorities of Sandia announced the III Adventure Tourism Festival. The activity is organized with the objective of developing the potential of its tourist attractions. This contest will be held between Friday 21st and Sunday 23rd of June, and will develop disciplines such as canoeing, paragliding, trekking, kayaking, zip-line, rappelling, downhill biking, hydrotherapy and camping.

At the launch ceremony of the Festival, the provincial mayor of Sandia, Adán Málaga, explained that this activity is organized with the purpose of placing the province of Sandia in a decisive place in the practice of adventure tourism in the department of Puno and in national scale.

The province of Sandia is located north of the department of Puno and more than 70% of its territory is located in the Jungle. The touristic and economic potential of this province is sought to be used for the benefit of its inhabitants, the vast majority farmers, whose products are marketed throughout the southern macroregion.

The festival, which has been held for two years, aims to publicize these tourist attractions of Puno, in addition to promoting the gastronomic, cultural and artistic wealth of the province, which has between its products the best organic coffee in the world: the coffee of the Clouds and Tunki.
