Peru: Pisco Exports Up 2.9% in First Half of the Year

Peru’s pisco exports totaled US$4.3 million in the first half of 2019, thus increasing 2.9% compared to the same period last year (US$4.18 million), Lima Chamber of Commerce (CCL) informed on Tuesday. Likewise, wine shipments amounted to US$115,860 in the first six months of the year, a 53.8% compared to the similar term in 2018 (US$75,321).

According to CLL, gin exports recorded an 18.2% rise between January and June 2019, compared to the same period in 2018. However, rum and vodka shipments decreased 13.3% and 32.6%, respectively.

Furthermore, CCL projects alcoholic beverages will achieve an approximately 4% expansion by the end of this year. In addition, it forecasts pisco exports will grow between 2% and 3% in 2019.
