About 25,000 domestic and foreign visitors are expected to attend the International Spring Festival in Trujillo —capital of northern La Libertad region— this year.
Remarks were made by Roberto Valdivia, president of Lions Club of Trujillo and organizer of the event’s 68th edition.
Valdivia stressed the potential of the festival’s activities and side events such as the Regional Peruvian Paso Horse Competition, culinary fairs, and musical shows.
“We cannot forget the social impact generated by the float parade, which brings more than 200,000 people along its 3-kilometer route around the city and is set to take place September 30 this year,” he stated.
This year, the festival will kick off with Expo La Libertad on September 21. Arrangements have been made with La Libertad’s Foreign Trade and Tourism Department to that end.
In the presence of U.S. baton twirlers and international queens, Expo La Libertad will gather agricultural producers to feature a variety of products and inputs for trade.
Air show
As part of the program, and thanks to the Ministry of Defense, the Spring Festival will include an air show. The activity will be held this weekend at Huanchaco esplanade.
In fact, the show includes free medical and haircut services in favor of the underprivileged but will be provided by doctors after a parachute jump.
