Arequipa is one of the most beautiful cities of Peru and also a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
It is also called the white city because of its many constructions made in cillar, a volcanic stone of white color.
Arequipa has long been the second largest city in Peru and has always had a defiant voice against Lima.
It is very famous for hosting the largest textile industry in alpaca and vicuña from Peru, and for its extraordinary gastronomy.
One of the natural attractions of Arequipa is the Colca Canyon, where many tourists go to see the majestic flight of the condor, the biggest bird on earth.
This Canyon, 3400 meters deep, is very difficult to navigate to get to the other side closer to the Pacific Ocean.
In the valley there are a few different towns that lived in isolation many decades after their first discovery by Spanish priests.
